Build a Red Tent in yur private space! Here you´ll read how to do it!
StandardBecause the retreat, being with yourself, is particularly important during bleeding, I also built my own private red tent at home and I love it. I retreat there when I bleed, meditate, think about something and feel it. I am very lucky to have a permanent place for this.
But what does such a small, private red tent look like and can YOU build it yourself at home? Yes you can! On the one hand it is wonderful to create such a permanent place, on the other hand it also possible to build a red tent easily and only for the time of the bleeding! Here is what you need:
Red fabric or a red canopy
a comfortable pad
one or more cushions
a cozy blanket
if you like, an altar with a candle, flowers, an image of a goddess …
If you are working with fabric, you can simply slide two pieces of furniture together and spread the fabric over them. It always reminds me a little of the time when I was a cave maker. Yes exactly! You can also put a wire in a corner or alcove of the room, where you spread the fabric over it. This can also be a permanent solution, but can also be easily cleared away.
When the outer shell is there, it is about comfort. Make everything as cozy as possible so that you can feel wonderfully comfortable and relax. Of course it is nice if everything is red here too, but that is not necessary. How you design your tent is very personal and depends entirely on your preferences and resources. It is only important that it is a lovingly designed place!
For some, the greatest challenge is to actually claim this place for themselves and also to ensure privacy. The children want to play along, the partner may react irritated. It usually helps to let them in briefly and explain exactly what this sudden change is all about. After 2-3 bleedings the kids will already say: “Shh, mom is in the red tent!” But also dare to stand up for your natural need for withdrawal during bleeding, it is your birthright and you will see that you are much more powerful and balanced if you treat yourself to your time out in the red tent!
